The V8/X8 Family of Color Graphics Controllers supports standard UNIX andDOS windows environments with the high resolution and performance levelsnecessary for productive use, including the ability to run multipleapplications simultaneously at effective speeds and to display multiplepages of text on the screen at once with good viewability. Microfield'scontrollers perform many of the graphics tasks onboard, off-loading theCPU and significantly increasing overall system performance. Microfield'sX8 is PC/AT compatible and performs area fills at 130 million pixels persecond and has a drawing speed of 132K random 40-pixel vectors persecond. The V8/2 is a Micro Channel version of the V8.
